Voiceral Communications was founded over 13 years ago as one of the Nation’s first ISP’s (Internet Service Providers) operating under the names Global One and Global2000. Within that time, Voiceral Communications became one of the first 100 commercially deployed broadband connections in the United States in 1996, New York State’s first High Speed Internet Dialup Service in 1998, and the first web hosting service provider to host such prominent web sites as WRGB-TV6, News 10, News Channel 13, News Talk Radio WGY, PYX 106 Radio and The New York State Department of Motor Vehicles. In 1997 the company was voted the best Internet Service Provider in the New York Capital Region by The Albany Times Union.

Installation and Interface

When you sign up for Voiceral service, you will pay a one-time equipment fee. But, this fee allows you to own the device, even if you cancel service. This device is usable with any other digital telephone provider. There is no activation fee.

Features

Voiceral has four different residential plans available, and each plan includes caller ID, call waiting, call forwarding, call blocking, voice mail, “do not disturb” service, three-way calling, directory assistance and more. The major difference in the plans is the distance of coverage and the minutes. The most basic plan includes unlimited local and long distance calling to anywhere in the U.S. and Canada. The most expensive plan (only a few dollars more) is the “Asia Plan,” where the caller gains access to unlimited local and long distance calling to anywhere in the U.S., Canada, China, Hong Kong, Singapore and Taiwan.

The Voiceral Private Telephone Exchange (PTX) offers a solution for businesses and incorporates the phone system and call usage all on one bill. The Voiceral PTX provides numerous new features over your traditional office telephone system such as unified messaging where callers can be connected to the person they are trying to reach, whether that person is in the office, on the road, or working from home. The Voiceral PTX can connect all of your remote employees or offices as if they’re working in the same office.

Voiceral offers one plan for small businesses that offers the same amenities as the residential phone, and with unlimited local and long distance calling to anywhere in the U.S. and Canada. There is a setup fee for the business service and a thirty-day trial period is available.

In most cases, users can keep an existing phone number or choose a new one. Voiceral currently has phone numbers available for transferring in 30 States. You may obtain a new phone number in one of 13 states: California, Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Virginia, and Washington, DC.

Performance

Generally, the best results with Voiceral are obtained with upstream and downstream bandwidths greater than 128 kb/s in both directions. Voiceral service will not interfere with your ability to go onto the Internet, and it will route incoming and outgoing voice calls alongside incoming and outgoing data from your computer. You can make and receive calls while you use your computer to access the Internet, as well as when your computer is off or not connected to the Internet. The way their service works is that it routes your incoming and outgoing voice calls right alongside the data being sent to or from your computer.
