V-Global Communications develops and represents telecommunications products and services. They provide a turnkey product and service solution that adapts to the needs of specific vendors and customers. V-Global has been offering low cost high quality VoIP services for the past three years and before that was offering long distance services using traditional long distance networks.

Outside their services, V-Global Communications has developed and markets a low-cost long distance service, using a unique “state of the art” (VoIP) dialer. This proprietary dialer acts as a call router and directs all long distance and international traffic over a managed VoIP network. Using a standard dial-up phone line, the dialer transfers outgoing long distance calls to the VoIP network which enables customers to receive low cost long distance and international rates without the need of expensive broadband connections and equipment.

Installation and Interface

Once you register at V-Global Communications, you’ll receive a Long Distance Dialer from a retail location or an authorized V-Global Communication’s Agent. You’ll need to activate your account by setting up your account profile and by purchasing long-distance minutes to credit to your account.

Your number will be assigned to you, and it is programmed into the “dialer” when you activate that service. They also may change the number, but they will give you prior warning according to their terms of service. Once you have activated the service, you can make calls.

On certain plans, you will be able to make calls from your number to destinations outside the Continental United States. Without exception, on all of their plans, calls to Alaska, Hawaii, all other territories of the United States, Canada, Mexico, and all other international locations are charged at premium rates over the published Continental United States rates.

Features

The V-Global Dialer doesn’t sport an Ethernet port. Instead, it routes all calls over the PSTN to a local access gateway and then using DTMF (touch-tone) digits your “dialed digits” are passed to the local access gateway where it routes the call over IP and then the call is bridged. This concept is similar to units that let you pre-program your calling card number and PIN so whenever you dial, your dialed digits are first passed to the calling card company for termination. Essentially, this product is PSTN-to-VoIP-to-PSTN whereas most VoIP solutions are VoIP-to-PSTN.

V-Global 800 Calling allows your friends and customers to call you free of charge on your assigned USA 800 number. You are charged only for minutes used on calls to you from your callers’ location using an 800 access number that is assigned to you.

V-Global is not a replacement for basic service, as none of their services give access to 411 o 911 services. You must maintain basic telephone service with your local telephone company to use the Services. No other features are mentioned on their Web site.

Performance

Since the dialer terminates at the PSTN local access gateway and not over the Internet, it may be reasonable to expect better quality phone calls through this innovative service.

V-Global provides online assistance through FAQ and through email. While there is no guarantee, their policy allows for no contract, no monthly minimum, and no expiration. You pay only for what you use.
