Spirit Telecom

Spirit Telecom serves four states in the Southeastern United States with local voice over Internet protocol service, and provides wholesale and reseller VoIP service nationwide.

Spirit Telecom is owned by the independent telephone cooperatives and companies of South Carolina. Although many of its constituent companies have been around for over 100 years, Spirit Telecom began its paging, private line, and long-distance service in 1993. It added Internet service to its portfolio in 1994.

Installation and Interface

Spirit Telecom's IP Centrex installation for businesses provides private branch exchange functionality without the burden of expensive, high maintenance equipment. Phone calls are delivered as a packetized stream to the company. They are then routed over the company's LAN network and into gateways, where they are picked up by conventional as well as wireless phones.

Features

Spirit Telecom's business solution, IP Centrex, allows businesses of any size a great degree of freedom and security. Mobile employees can get up and take the phone with them, and even remote offices can enjoy all the benefits of a large-scale phone solution.

The web interface allows for maintenance and monitoring from within the office. The interface allows administrators to move, change, and even add lines in a matter of minutes, instead of days or weeks as with normal telephone service.

The web interface also allows administrators look at who's calling where, for how long. This can help the office figure out how much time is spent with outsource help, such as lawyers, accountants, and sales reps, as well as pinpoint potential employee misuse.

Spirit's Voice Over IP program is the rebrandable reseller program that allows local internet service providers to offer, under their own name, voice over internet protocol solutions for local customers. VoIP service can be used to add revenue to current customers, and can bring in new customers by way of extremely reasonable long-distance rates.

Performance

Spirit Telecom has been in the broadband arena since 1996 and has offered internet services for nearly a decade and a half. Their experience in the field has provided them with the know-how and equipment to offer dependable, quality service.

Spirit Telecom's phone service delivers results to businesses by offering a suite of enhanced voice services that support field and office activities. ISP resellers experience enhanced customer retention and profit once they rebrand Spirit's wholesale VoIP services with their own names.

Service and Support

Spirit Telecom provides unique customer support in the way of its voice over internet protocol training. Its one-day classes are for employees who will be using a newly installed IP Centrex solution. Three-day classes are ideal for sales, marketing, and customer service staff.

Spirit also offers a five day "VoIP Boot Camp" which features over 50 lab exercises and even a "final exam." The boot camp is intended for the front-line technicians and engineers who will implement the service. ISP who are able will add a great asset to their business by sending at least one technician to the boot camp.
