PC-Telephone is a VoIP Solution unlike any other. A customer can use PC-Telephone to make free PC-to-PC calls over the Internet, as well as cheap PC-to-Phone calls. Whether a customer needs a flexible phone plan for to meet his/her needs or wants to add a second line to their standard landline, PC-to-Phone is a reliable alternative.

With the use of the PC’s sound card or a USB telephone device, a customer has instant access to all regular phone operations. He/she can send and receive calls just like with a land line but at a much lower cost.

Installation and Interface

Getting started is very simple and takes just a few minutes to complete. A customer can take care of the entire process from the comfort of his/her computer and be ready to go in no time. There are two basic steps. First the customer needs to download the PC-Telephone software and install it on his/her computer.

The next step is purchasing a PC-Telepone calling card. Customers can select a value amount on their card depending on their needs. Cards can be puchased in amounts of 10,000, 25,000 or 50,000 calling units. Each calling unit equals about .0016 cents. Rates per call will vary, but PC-to-PC calls are free.

After installing the software and purchasing a calling card, a customer simply has to input his/her calling card number into under the Network Menu/IP Options. From there, the customer can instantly begin using the PC-Telephone service. Once the credits on the phone card are diminished, the customer will need to purchase new credits with a new card.

Phone calls can be made with a simple headset microphone available at most stores that carry electronics. Another option is purchasing a USB phone that plugs into the USB adapter of a computer. This gives the user a more traditional phone experience which some people prefer.

Features

The features available on the PC-Telephone put it in the league of many of the major telephone companies, which makes the price all the more enticing. PC-Telephone customers have Call Answer which functions like a standard answering machine. Call Scheduling will automatically dial phone or fax numbers at a specified time. Call Accounting will keep track of all of the calls that a customer makes or receives.

PC-Telephone also allows its customers to transfer data to other PC-Telephone users. This direct data transfer can be done manually or at a scheduled time. Scheduled data transfer will automatically deliver files to a specified user without the involvement of either user.

Performance

PC-Telephone customers experience performance that is equal to that of their internet connection. That’s why it is recommended that the technology only be used on Broadband or High Speed DSL lines. If a customer is trying to use a dial-up connection, the call quality will be greatly diminished.
