Internode is a company that specializes in a few different areas and offers the NodePhone as its VoIP. This is an innovative system that allows the user to call anyone in the world at low cost. NodePhone is full service in that he/she can call others on the NodePhone system or regular telephones.

Internode has great rates because the company’s costs are low with broadband Internet service. While some might worry that call quality will suffer, it is not a concern with NodePhone. In fact, some consider the call quality to be even better than a standard service would provide.

Installation and Interface

NodePhone works over any broadband connection as long as it is the minimum speed. This speed is 512 kbps on downloads and 128 kbps on uploads. Higher service is recommended but users should not notice any loss of functionality with the minimum.

The user will also need an ADSL router in order to create the phone connection from broadband. All that needs to be done with this router is to plug the telephone in. There is no need to have a service person come and do an installation since it can be up and running within minutes.

Those with an ADSL router already can use an analogue telephone adapter. This will allow the user to use a regular phone with their NodePhone system. This adapter is the OPEN Networks 812L.

Features

One of the main aims of NodePhone is to save the customer money. Even so, the company does not want to skimp on any features. Their system is very cost effective and provides rock bottom rates to calls within Australia. These are a fixed amount that is incredibly low for the service. International calls are timed on a per minute basis and calls to other NodePhone users are free.

Since low rates don’t mean much without great service the NodePhone is also reliable. The system is always available and the system prioritizes your phone calls over Internet usage.

Standard features include call forwards, Do Not Disturb, CLI Display, Last Number Redial, and more. It is also easy to see which calls were missed via the NodePhone online Toolbox. These are all included in the package price.

Many would find it hard to live without voicemail and Internode provides free voicemail service. There are no additional charges per use so the customer can maintain his/her voicemails at his/her leisure. It is also possible to receive these voicemails via e-mail.
