Installation and Interface

EX4U is, basically, for small businesses or enterprises. EX4U Telecom offers phone service over broadband. The number that they provide to customers, in technical terms is a DID number. This is the number that connects you to the old PSTN Networks around the world. If you are using an IP-PBX, and you want to connect yourself to PSTN so people can call your office, you only need to purchase a DID number from EX4U. EX4U converts the analog to digital and provides these DID numbers over the Internet, with SIP or H323.

In other words, you buy the number from EX4U, and they send it straight to your sip address, and you are good to go. The call will then come to your IP-PBX or IP phone and softphone as a real phone line. Then you can use the DID as your phone number or direct extension.

Features

Performance

Generally, the best results with EX4U’s broadband service are obtained with upstream and downstream bandwidths greater than 128 kb/s in both directions (INX claims that you can use a dial-up connection as long as it maintains 128 kb/s). EX4U service will not interfere with your ability to go onto the Internet, and it will route incoming and outgoing voice calls alongside incoming and outgoing data from your computer. You can make and receive calls while you use your computer to access the Internet, as well as when your computer is off or not connected to the Internet. The way their service works is that it routes your incoming and outgoing voice calls right alongside the data being sent to or from your computer.
