Babble is a British VoIP provider that allows users to make free PC-to-PC calls in over 25 countries. PC-to-land line calls are also available for free in certain situations, though customers should verify if they are eligible for such an arrangement. Installation and Interface

The beta version of Babble is compatible with Windows PC, though Mac, Linux and users of older versions of Windows can still take advantage of Babble’s service if they use a third-party VoIP client. Babble’s VoIP soft phone is free to download and to use, though the compatibility issue may deter some users. One advantage of Babble is that it works with any SIP-compatible hardware.

Like Skype and other companies, calls between Babble users are free of charge. PC-to-landline calls may incur charges, depending on location. With a user-friendly interface and quick set-up, the clear call quality is just an added bonus to what should be a rewarding customer experience. International calling sounds great, both between PCs and from PC to landlines. Despite the fact that Babble has only been operating since 2004, it already offers state-of-the-art performance.

Service and Support

Babble’s official Web site includes a detailed troubleshooting guide, should users encounter any kind of technical issues. Unfortunately, the “Support” section of the site only offers an email address for contact. A toll-free help line would be preferable, even if the performance is very reliable. Despite that drawback and a few compatibility issues with non-Windows users, Babble does offer a desirable and inexpensive service.
